SC486: Electronic Noise, Speed and Power Dissipation in Nanoelectronics and Quantum Computing
The words "noise", "speed", and "power-dissipation", in context with the information transfer in future nanoelectronic and quantum information systems, indicate perhaps the most important set of interrelated tasks to be completed before practical applications of these new technologies. After a meaningful introduction of the basic terms, measurement principles and related physical models, fundamental and practical limits imposed on technology will be shown in a demystifying manner. Possible techniques to get around the problems will be outlined.
