Ocean tides are the phenomenon of periodic sea-level change on the coast or in the ocean. There are a number of basic requirements that should be considered when planning to record the tidal data in the field, such as the length, the location, and most importantly the interval of observation. Unique features of Indonesian waters induce several types of tide observed. Focusing on the applicability of altimetry satellites in obtaining tidal harmonics to demonstrate the advantages of it.
