We demonstrated the efficient generation of a linearly polarized Ho:YAG laser pumped by a thulium fiber laser. Independent of the pumping power and without utilizing any dispersive optical element, the output radiation remained stable with a high degree of linear polarization. The output with 2044 nm wavelength and 0.12 nm bandwidth was measured. In the free-running generation, with respect to the incident pump power, we recorded more than 9 W of output power with 59% slope efficiency. In addition, in the pulsed generation, we obtained more than 2.2 mJ pulses with 50 ns time duration, and 44 kW peak power. |
