Abstract
Solar-selective black nickel absorbing films have been deposited on galvanized iron substrates by a simple dip-and-dry method using a mixture of nickel chloride and thiourea solution (0.1 M concentration). The films developed a surface structure with well-defined globular particles distributed over the entire surface and exhibited good selective properties with solar absorptance = 0.81, thermal emittance = 0.10, and selectivity = 8.10.
