Abstract
This paper contains analysis of fiber optic link parameters influence on quality of digital data transmission. Simulations with variable transmitter launch power, extinction ratio, signal rise/fall time and link length were realised. Network demands protection types influence on the cost of network implementation was researched in various levels of topology complexity.
