Abstract
According to the thin-layer electrochemistry and transient electrochemistry principles, two kinds of all-new transient electrochemical multi-component gas sensors--`porous thin- layer electrode coulometric gas sensor' and `pulse potential modulated gas sensor' were presented in this paper. As compared with conventional steady electrochemical gas sensors, they have made a new breakthrough in optimizing the sensor performance characteristics and developing the sensor functions, as illustrated by the case of detection of O2 + N2O (gas anaesthetic) and CO2 + O2 (biorespiratory gases) gas mixtures.
