Abstract

This paper introduces a new method for an adaptive time- delay estimator. It improves its performance in estimating the difference in arrival time of a band-limited random signal received by two spatially separated sensors in an environment where the signal and noise power are time varying. The proposed method has an advantage in that the variance of time-delay can be assessed at any time. The valuable conclusion and convergence characteristics are obtained.
