Abstract

The SiO₂ barrier layers for liquid crystal display prepared by sol-gel technique were investigated. The influences of preparing process parameters, such as withdrawal speed and heat-treated temperature, on the characteristics including transmittance, refractive index, film thickness and barrier effectiveness to sodium ions of SiO₂ films were studied and compared with that deposited by rf-magnetron sputtering.
