Abstract
The aim of this study is to investigate the design approach for smart home control panel interfaces (SHCPI) in the context of aging, to enhance the sustainable user experience for elderly users, and to optimize usability. The research methodology involves applying design thinking to identify user needs by diverging creatively along two logical pathways using the Mash-up method, resulting in the construction of a hierarchical model. Weight analysis is conducted using the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) to inform interface design decisions. Subsequently, the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method (FCE) is employed to assess satisfaction and acceptance of the design by elderly users. Findings reveal that seven design elements with higher weight rankings have been prioritized to inform practical implementation. The comprehensive evaluation indicates a decision value of 86, suggesting that the design scheme adequately meets user requirements. The study concludes that the proposed design enhances user experience for the elderly, offering insights for innovative strategies and directions for aging design in smart home control panels, while also presenting a valuable reference for research on aging interfaces across various domains.
