Abstract
Navigation is one of the core parts of an AGV, which lets the AGV know where it is and guides its running direction and path. Aiming at the problems of poor map building and low map building efficiency of AGV in the navigation process, this paper studies the map building and positioning algorithm of AGV navigation system and verifies the effect of the optimized algorithm on the dataset. Two popular SLAM algorithms are analyzed theoretically and simulated, and Cartographer algorithm is chosen as the best one to incorporate the adaptive grid matching strategy into the algorithm. Theoretical analyses and experimental results show that the improved Cartographer algorithm improves the map building efficiency and map accuracy.
