Abstract
To solve the problems of multiple incorrect matching points, low matching accuracy, and slow matching speed in visible light image stitching of UAV. This article proposes an improved whale algorithm feature matching method based on quaternion representation of color images. The classic ORB feature extraction method has been improved by introducing quaternions to represent color images, and using the improved whale algorithm to find feature points where quaternions represent color images. The direction between the centroid of the quaternion moment and the quaternion feature point is taken as a direction to solve the problem of lack of direction in quaternion key points. Using a feature point attachment degree method to purify the obtained feature points for feature matching in UAV color images. The experimental results show that the proposed feature matching method for UAV color images based on quaternion improved whale algorithm is the best among the four experimental methods.
