Abstract
In response to the demands of SWAP cryogenic coolers with high- performance infrared detectors to be applied to light load platforms such as hand-held thermal imagers and UAVs, Kunming Institute of Physics (K.I.P) has developed a series of linear coolers for higher operating temperatures (HOT) IR Detectors in recent years, including C313 linear cooler with single piston compressor, C351 micro linear cooler with dual piston compressor and C395 miniature pulse tube cooler operating at 100 Hz to meet demands on applications such as different detector material systems, wavelength ranges, and operating temperature areas. In addition, a technical model has been set up for micro and low power consumption cooler. This paper highlights HOT Linear cooler’s developments at KIP, including design features, performance data of different coolers, as well as the discussions emphatically on testing and verification of C351 micro- cooler and LC1061A cooler electronics.
