Abstract
The management of household waste is one of the indicators of urban development, and waste sorting has become an irreversible trend worldwide under the urbanization process. On the basis of combing the relevant literature on the influencing factors of waste sorting, this study built a structural equation model study the mechanism of different influencing factors on the Waste sorting of urban residents in Dongguan. Through the research, it is found that for Waste sorting behavior, government intervention variables mainly include policies and regulations(PR), publicity and education(PE), and incentive mechanisms(IM). Individual psychological factors include environmental values(EV) and perceived behavioral effectiveness(PBE); PR and PE affect residents' attitudes and behaviors towards waste sorting through individual psychological factors. The main limitation is that it does not consider the specific form of action of waste sorting attitude on garbage classification behavior.
