Abstract
Aiming at the location and capacity planning problem of substation in power grid, a mutational imperialist competition algorithm (MICA) is proposed in the solution process. The algorithm introduces an adaptive t-distribution mutation operator to mutate and select imperialist countries so that the empire can jump out of the local optimum, and adopts adaptive differential evolution algorithm (ADE) to mutate, cross, and select colonies to compensate for the premature convergence of the imperialist competition algorithm and the loss of outstanding individuals, to eventually provide excellent candidate substation planning decisions. Finally, the proposed algorithm is tested by an example, which verifies the feasibility and practicability of the proposed algorithm.
