Abstract
The calibration and compensation of systematic biases of air-to-air 7radars based on ADS-B messages is an easy-toimplement radar calibration technique. However, the calibration accuracy is limited by the lack of accurate timestamp information in ADS-B messages. To address this problem, a technique to perform accurate time-delay search based on the maximum likelihood objective function is proposed. Simulations demonstrate that this time-delay search and estimation algorithm can achieve the function of time-delay estimation with high accuracy and stable performance and better than sample selection calibration method, thereby meeting the requirements of search and surveillance radar calibration.
