Abstract
The paper presents the results of analysis of the spectropolarimetric characteristics of the surface aerosol obtained in 1998-2012 at the Zvenigorod Scientific Station. Information was obtained on the main microphysical characteristics of surface aerosol - particle size distribution, refractive index of the particles' matter and their condensation activity under various meteorological conditions. In the course of experimental work and analysis of the measurement results, it was revealed that an increase in the volume concentration V is accompanied, as a rule, by a decrease in the value of the refractive index n, and vice versa, a decrease in the volume concentration V leads to an increase in n. This also manifests itself at the moments of the passage of atmospheric fronts. The passage of cold fronts is accompanied, as a rule, by a sharp drop in the aerosol content in the atmosphere, while the passage of warm fronts carries an increased aerosol content.
