Abstract
In order to deepen the understanding of proper orthogonal decomposition method(POD) for the analysis of the characteristics of gas-liquid coaxial injector spray field, image processing was performed on the spray field images. Taking water as the working medium, the oscillation characteristics of self-pulsation spray were extracted. The surface wave characteristics of the complete conical liquid film were extracted with 0.6% xanthan gum solution as working medium. The analysis showed that the greater the degree of spray flucyuation is, the better the effect of POD analysis of spray field image is. In this case, POD can extract self-pulsation mode and frequency information. Sprays with better atomization and less pulsation were difficult to extract effective information about atomized droplets and oscil-lating sprays. POD analysis of the complete conical film can extract the surface wave frequency information of the liquid film. Therefore, the POD method is an effective means of injector spray image processing.
