Dr. Brunye is a Visiting Associate Professor at Tufts University and the Senior Scientific Manager at the Center for Applied Brain and Cognitive Sciences. He has substantial expertise and leadership experience in industry, government, and academia in the field of cognitive science, with specific expertise in attention, decision making, electrical neuromodulation (tDCS/tACS/tRNS), spatial cognition, visual search, medical informatics, discourse processing, and executive function. These topics are investigated using extensive experience with several advanced data collection techniques, including eye tracking, electroencephalography, motor movement tracking, functional near-infrared spectroscopy, electromyography, and behavioral metrics. Since receiving his doctoral degree in 2007, Dr. Brunye has authored or co-authored over 130 peer-reviewed manuscripts and multiple book chapters and presented at over 70 national and international conferences. He also serves as a reviewer for over 100 scientific journals, national and international granting agencies, and serves as associate editor at 3 different journals. His research has been featured in several press outlets including National Public Radio, U.S. News and World Report, Newsweek Magazine, Men’s Health, and Science News. In 2011, Dr. Brunye was awarded the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers, the highest honor bestowed by the U.S. government on science and engineering professionals in the early stages of their independent research careers.
