Abstract
The method of Raman microspectrosopy can be used to determine position-defined absolute water content in young and old human lenses from the ratio between the Raman intensity at 3390 cm and 2935 cm1, as described in previous studies1'2. Especially when using lens slices accurate positioning is possible and an excellent spatial resolution can be obtained. The aim of the present study is to investigate position-defined variations in absolute water content in human lenses of varying age.
