Abstract
The transmission of laser signals in laser communication systems is affected by atmospheric turbulence, which can cause optical wavefront distortion and degrade communication performance. Adaptive optics (AO) technology can compensate for atmospheric turbulence in real time, however, the time delay inherent in the AO system will cause the compensation wavefront to lag significantly behind the aberration wavefront change when correcting the aberration wavefront with high time frequency, which will easily increase the bit error rate (BER) of the laser communication system and lead to communication failure. At present, it is difficult for existing methods to effectively solve the correction time delay problem faced by AO technology in laser communication systems with high time frequency atmospheric turbulence distortion wavefront. In this paper, a long short-term memory (LSTM) based distortion wavefront prediction model for laser communication systems is proposed. In this model, multi-frame historical wavefront is used to predict the future wavefront to be corrected. The simulation results show that the model has a good prediction effect on atmospheric turbulence wavefront with different aberrations, which is expected to be used for the prediction and correction of high time frequency wavefront aberrations in real laser communication systems.
